Proud Moment of the Day: LGBT rights activist and DADT challenger Lt. Dan Choi re-enlisted in the Army yesterday as he said he would once DADT was no longer in effect. Today he went back to the recruiting station to take the skills test and fill out some paperwork.

This is what he wrote on his application:

I was discharged in 7/2010 from the US Army because I told the truth about my sexual orientation and refused to lie about my cherished lover and partner. I do not intend to lie about my identity or family in any portion of my service.

Ask this man and he’ll tell you a thing or two about bravery.
